PSL 2026 Local Category Renewal – List of All Players

The Local Players Category Renewal for the PSL 11 has been officially announced by the PCB. A total of 89 local cricketers have had their categories updated ahead of the first ever player auction scheduled for February 11, 2026.

According to the latest list, five players have received major promotions to the elite Platinum category following their impressive performances in recent domestic and international matches. Each franchise can now retain a maximum of four players from this list, with a strict limit of one player per category.

Local Players Category Renewal

The Local Players Category Renewal process is a key step in the lead-up to the new season, determining the base value and draft status of the nation’s top talent. The PCB has assigned these 89 players across five distinct categories: Platinum, Diamond, Gold, Silver, and Emerging.

The renewals highlight a significant shift in the league’s hierarchy, with 16 players now occupying the Platinum tier and 11 in the Diamond category. This comprehensive update ensures that player valuations align with their current form and standing in the cricket world.

Platinum Category Promotions

Five high-impact players have been elevated to the Platinum category for the 2026 season. Sahibzada Farhan achieved a remarkable jump, moving up two tiers from the Gold category after a stellar year with the bat.

Joining him in the top flight are Pakistan’s T20I captain Salman Ali Agha, along with Hasan Ali, Mohammad Nawaz, and Abrar Ahmed. These four stars were previously in the Diamond category and have been promoted based on their consistent contributions to their respective teams.

Players retained their Existing Platinum status

Several prominent stars have successfully retained their existing Platinum status for PSL 11. These players represent the core strength of the league and continue to be the most sought-after names for the six established franchises.

Diamond Category Players

A total of 11 players have been assigned to the Diamond category this year. Notable movements include Mohammad Wasim Jr, Sufyan Muqeem, and Mohammad Salman Mirza, all of whom jumped up from the Gold category following strong performances.

Other players featuring in this category include Saud Shakeel, Usman Tariq, Abdullah Shafique, Usama Mir, Iftikhar Ahmed, and Usman Khan. Karachi Kings’ duo of Abbas Afridi and Shan Masood also feature prominently in the Diamond tier for the upcoming season.

Gold Category

The Gold category remains the most crowded, featuring a total of 32 players across all franchises. This tier includes experienced campaigners and consistent performers like Mohammad Haris, Azam Khan, Zaman Khan, and Shahnawaz Dahani.

New additions to the Gold category include Hasan Nawaz, who moved up from the Emerging category. Franchises such as Karachi Kings have listed up to eight players in this bracket, including Aamir Jamal and Mir Hamza, reflecting the deep pool of local talent available.

Silver & Emerging Categories

The Silver and Emerging categories together account for 30 players, with 16 in Silver and 14 in the Emerging tier. Transitions between these groups are frequent, with players like Hunain Shah and Ubaid Shah making the move from Emerging to Silver this year.

The Emerging category continues to be a breeding ground for future stars, featuring youngsters like Saad Baig and Momin Qamar. These categories are essential for franchises to meet their squad requirements while grooming the next generation of Pakistani cricketing talent.
